Check Out Procedures (If you need to take your child from class for the day):

All students leaving school early must be signed out. 5th grade parents must check-in through the front window at Vidor High School (500 Orange St.). 6th grade parents must check-in through the front window at Vidor Jr. High. Please do not access our campuses from any other point. Students will be called on the intercom to meet their parent/adult at the check-out area of their respective campuses. Children will need to be signed back in by an adult when they return to school. Attendance is vital to the success of our students. Please arrange doctor appointments, trips, and lessons so your child can be at school all day, every day.

Lunch Visits (visiting your child during his/her lunch):

  • Check in at the office and obtain a visitor’s tag (tag must be  worn while on campus).
  • Meet your child in the cafeteria and have lunch with him/her at the reserved table.
  • Sign out in the front office before leaving the campus.

Cell Phone Policy at VMS

Cell phones may only be used if allowed by the teacher. Violating the policy will result in:

  • 1st offense – phone is turned into office and returned at the end of the day.
  • 2nd offense – phone is turned into the office and parent must pick up.
  • 3rd offense – phone is turned into the office, student is placed in ISS, parent must pick up.

At 6th grade only, phones are allowed during lunch and before and after school. Inappropriate use of cell phones can result in the privilege being removed.

IDs at VMS

To ensure a safe and secure campus, VMS requires 6th grade students to wear IDs at all times. All students will be issued an ID at the beginning of the school year. Replacement IDs cost $4.00.
