Texas law now requires school districts to distribute information to parents and guardians about the safe
storage of firearms. This information will help you learn about options for, as well as how to talk
to your child and others about, the safe storage of firearms.

The Standard Response Protocol has been adopted by VISD in the event of an incident. The protocol is based on the following actions: Hold, Secure, Lockdown, Evacuate and Shelter.

The Standard Reunification Method is a process that will be utilized when circumstances occur at the school that require parents to pick up their students in a formalized, controlled release.
